Effect of Nucleant Particle Agglomeration on Grain Size

چکیده

Abstract Solute accumulation/depletion in the liquid around a growing solid particle during solidification of metallic melts creates constitutionally supercooled (CS) zone that has significant effect on final solidified grain structure. In this paper, we introduce two mechanisms related to CS affect size: one is initiation free (GIFZ) describes inability nucleant particles located for and other re-melting (RM) due overlap zones. Based these mechanisms, have systematically analysed agglomeration size. We found size responsible discrepancy between theoretically predicted experimental data. addition, our numerical analysis suggests under normal conditions relevant industrial practice little thus may be ignored theoretical analysis. A practical implication from work refinement can achieved by dispersing melt prior solidification.

Effects of Varying Methodologies on Grain Particle Size Analysis

Particle size reduction is an important component of feed manufacturing that impacts pellet quality, feed flowability, and pig feed efficiency. The correct determination of particle size is important for feed manufacturers, nutritionists, and pork producers to meet target specifications. The current method for determining the geometric mean diameter (dgw) and geometric standard deviation (Sgw) ...

Grain Processing: Particle Size Reduction Methods

INTRODUCTION Cereal grains generally are the primary source of energy in feedlot diets. Availability of energy from the grain depends largely on the type of grain used as well processing of that grain (Owens et al., 1997). A variety of grain processing techniques are used including grinding, steam flaking, and compiling high moisture corn to ferment. Each processing method differs in its nutrit...
